A 200-liter oil drum is split down the middle and massively reinforced from the inside with square tubing. Everything is welded, there are no visible screws or rivets. All barrel edges are equipped with a black edge protection. The feet are also painstakingly created individually and make the TV cabinet ‘float’. The lush storage compartment inside the barrel and the table top are created from former pallet boards. After being cut to size, the wood is sanded, flamed and given several coats of clear varnish. This special oil barrel furniture is available in various matte colors. Also, lowboard ‘Finn’ is an exclusive upcycling product from Tonnen Tumult.
At this point, we would like to point out that Tonnen Tumult furniture are perfectly finished but visually imperfect! They are upcycled products, i.e., already used industrial goods that have been modified into a piece of furniture. The bins have occasional small dents under the new lacquer and the wooden boards have small nail holes. These mini-flaws are visible even after processing and are also intentional! This is retro-industrial style! In addition, the underside of the bottom fold or the feet can have slight scratches due to motion during processing, but these are not visible in use (as written, underside).
